FAQ

Have you been thinking about joining Equalution for some time now, but have a few questions first? Let us help you understand the service and how it can work for you…

Your intake targets are the overall calorie, protein, carb and fat goals that we calculate specifically for your body in light of your goals.

After you join there is a very comprehensive questionnaire that provides us with the necessary information and data points we require in order to calculate your needs.

All the data points that we need for our initial calculations can be obtained by you. You don’t need any professional or expensive scans/tests however if you wish to get this done it will make for a great point of comparison at the end of your journey.

We use your weekly progress which tells us how your body is responding together with our strategy and internal algorithm to tweak your daily targets each week. Some weeks we may not need to make changes while others we may for optimal results.

You check in every week. You are allocated a constant check in day via the Equalution app which you can find on your check in dashboard.

The checks are conducted weekly via the app. You are allocated a day to check in by us that is based on our internal availability and although you receive each new meal plan by EOD on that day weekly you can begin it on any given day that best suits during the week. At check in, you are asked a series of questions relating to adherence, menstrual cycle, water intake and any food preferences you may have. As mentioned this is all actioned in-app and progress graphed for your visual understanding of your results.

The information you are asked to provide weekly is not compulsory. However, the more data points you can accurately provide allows us to optimally assess your results, make changes if need be and provide feedback.

Yes we do! We service worldwide and tailor to your region. There are Equalutioners all around the world!

Not all of our clients exercise. We calculate your intake goals according to your individual daily activity and energy expenditure. In light of this, exercise is not compulsory or necessary for results. We instead just advise you to do what you enjoy and is sustainable as your intake needs will be reflective of this.

The intake targets only package is recommended for experienced flexible dieters only. There is no meal plan guidance provided and instead the onus is on you to self select your own food choices and meet the intake targets we strategise. You use the food diary in the Equalution app to track and this is quite an independent process. Alternatively, the intake targets and meal plan option provides the same independent feature plus the inclusion of a customised meal plan option sent weekly too.

The meal plan is one full day of eating detailing what to eat from meals 1-6 customised to your intake goals as well as food preferences.

Each week at your check in, unless you’re on the intake targets only service in which case a meal plan is not included.

With the intake targets and meal plan option you recieve your daily calorie and macronutrient intake targets as well as one full day meal plan option. Therefore there is an option to vary your food choice daily depending on whether you choose to self select your own food choices or follow the meal plan.

You are able to make an in-app purchase of an additional meal plan option at $15 per plan. You can add this on at any time of your journey as many times as you like.

Absolutely not, our meal plans are very prep friendly and if there are any specific prep requests you have whether that be limited cooking facilities/time etc just specify this in your check in!

Your meal plan is specifically customised to your likes and dislikes and reflected accordingly so you can expect not to receive anything you don't enjoy eating as the plan is tailored to your taste!

We do customise our meal plans and service to all dietary requirements, medical necessities and food preferences.

If you have an extensive list of exclusions we may make further inquiries into seeking the clinical information that was obtained to conclude this. The reason being is there is a lot of misinformation and elimination diets that are prescribed as a precaution rather than for medically necessary reasons.

Yes. As a FODMAP diet is of high restriction, if prolonged for a greater period than 4 weeks it can result in nutritional deficiencies. For this reason, when you sign up we may make further enquiries as to your trigger categories in order to sustain some flexibility in the diet. Long term restrictive dieting outside of a medical requirement is not a practice we facilitate. If you do have IBS we would work closely with you on reintroduction of food groups and try and get you to the most balanced point possible while managing your symptoms. We work differently person to person as each case differs.

We don't have a sample meal plan as such given that each meal plan is customised to the individual, their intake needs and food preferences; however our meals are not only very family friendly but are also balanced, diverse and universal in reflecting what people usually like to eat. Some of our favourite meals include: Breakfast: bacon and egg on toast, yogurt and muesli, cereal, crumpets; Lunches: sandwiches, wraps, salads; Dinners: tacos, burgers, pizza, pasta, meat and vegetables etc. You can also follow us on Instagram and search the Equalution hashtag to see what our clients enjoy!

Due to the number of variables that can altar this cost weekly we can't confidently advise that however everything can be purchased from your local grocer and no specialty stores so it is no more or less than a regular grocery shop.

We acquire information regarding your medical needs in your initial questionnaire response. We do manage clients with medical needs and individually tailor their nutrition case by case to reflect the requirements. We still sustain a balanced diet while doing this alleviating a lot of the concerns that eventuate from a poor diet.

We have worked with gastric sleeve clients in the past with mixed results and experiences which are outside of our own predictions and what we can promise. It seems as though each individual is restricted differently in food quantity. Often, meeting the calorie and macronutrient goal we prescribe can be done so with either difficulty or ease. So while we'd love to work with you and do customise as closely as we can to your smaller portion requirements we do need to disclose that there has been previous difficulties in meeting the calorie and macro goals which we strategise. These are strategies to achieve optimal results so there is a high importance in meeting them as closely as possible.

We sure do Mummas, so you can jump on board immediately postpartum as we take this into account in calculating your needs in order to not hinder milk supply.

Yes, your whole family will love your Equalution meals, we don’t believe you will need to cook separately for the rest of the family!

We sure do, we also offer a couple discount for the purchase of two or more plans of 10% off when you pay upfront. We sync up your meal plans so you can enjoy the same meals proportionate to your individual requirements and also food preferences.

While it is great to have a scale weight goal it should be noted that the number on the scale does not always adequately represent optimal fat loss. The reason being is that particularly as a female there are a number of factors that impact the number on the scale of which makes other data points such as body measurements and progress photos a more accurate means of gaging progress. Given this in that optimal fat loss isn't often accurately represented by the number on the scale and highly varied depending on the individual, the amount of scale weight lost person to person differs significantly. Our clients typically lose anywhere from 250g - 2.5kg per week.

We strategise for optimal results weekly and if there is full adherence we are highly confident that best results will be achieved. The strategy is science based and will not fail with full adherence. However given that we can’t be fully accountable for non-compliance as it is outside of our control we can’t be liable for results not meeting your expectations.

We are very confident that age will not hinder your results. The body does have a lower metabolic rate as we increase in age though if your intake goals are strategised correctly this will not impact your progress. This is why age is a data point we use to calculate your calorie and macronutrient needs.

It is possible with your regime to adhere to our service. The weekly intake targets and meal plan service is highly suitable for this. On any given day you can either self select your own food choices or follow the meal plan. When away you can utilise the self tracking feature of which you select foods of your choice and meet the macro goals we've strategised, you can use our huge and accurate database and find all entries! For the meal plan in weeks you’re away what we'd suggest is that we create an adaptable option that is universal and generic, ie. Breakfast: 2x slices of wholemeal bread, 2x eggs etc OR tailor to the foods you list to us that you have access to for that week. This is the beauty of a customised meal plan week to week in that we can tailor to your requests as per they're submitted weekly with your check in.

Yes, absolutely! Equalution is lifestyle friendly for all work and life schedules. Meal timing isn’t relevant or regulated on our plans so we just advise you to consume your meals or meet your intake targets within a 24 hour block and the practice will be highly suitable and unhindered.

Absolutely, we practice an 80/20 approach to nutrition so 80% wholesome and nutritious food and 20% food you love. The beauty of flexible dieting in this manner is you are able to incorporate treat foods in moderation within your daily intake targets. Our team will coach you on how to work this into your day using your food diary, alternatively if you want us to take the thinking out of the process for you you’re able to purchase a social amendment at $20 per plan. This is a temporary day plan where we specify what to eat from meals 1-6 inclusive of your dine out/social meal. All things in moderation though so we will advise if your food choice ever does potentially hinder results.

Unfortunately given the intricate calculations and customisation conducted in the initial process we do not offer a trial. However we can provide full confidence in our strategy which we tweak based on your progress weekly. We implement a universal science, it does not work for some and not for others. Happy to clarify any queries prior to commencement, just let us know!
