Paid partnership with Campbell’s Real Stock.
Using stock in soups, sauces and casseroles are all too familiar, so we wanted to bring you some new, exciting ways you can incorporate Campbell’s Real Stock into your spring cooking.
1. Speed up your stir-fries
Our in-house recipe developer, Greer’s favourite way to use Campbell’s Real Stock is in stir-fries.
“I use a splash in the pan when cooking/stir-frying vegetables. It helps speed up the cooking process and adds flavour to the veggies,” she says.
2. Poaching chicken
Bring your stock of choice to a boil in a pot.
Remove from the heat, add chicken breast, cover and leave for 10 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
Amounts will depend on amount of chicken and size of pan, but just ensure enough stock to cover the chicken.
3. Cooking rice and pasta
Instead of using water to cook your favourite couscous, spaghetti or rice dish, try substituting it for stock. You can use the same quantity as you would water!
4. Winter warmer drink
We might be heading into the warmer months now, but if you’re craving a warming drink of a morning or night, popping some beef, chicken or vegetable stock on the boil makes for a cup of comfort!
For an extra nutrient boost you can even opt for Campbell’s Bone Broth, which is packed with protein and collagen.
5. Level up your mash
Thinking of making mashed potatoes? Level up the flavour by boiling your spuds in stock instead of water. Once boiled you can retain the stock to use in the mash or as a gravy!
6. Flavour bombs
You can use your stock to create flavour bombs you can use later in stir-fries, casseroles, sauces and more!
Mix your stock with whichever herbs, spices and condiments you love, pop them in an ice cube tray, or a mini muffin tin, and freeze. Then they’re ready to throw into the pan or pot when you need them. These should keep for up to 3 months in the freezer.
Campbell’s Flavour Boost are another great option to use here for, you guessed it, a flavour boost! They’re available in flavours: Garlic & Rosemary, Red Wine Tomato & Basil and Chilli, Garlic & Onion.
